Beavers on the web (games)

Where do beaver badges go on the uniform?

1st Wotton-under-Edge Scout Group has one beaver colony.

Beaver Scouting is open to Boys and Girls from 6 to 8 years old.  We aim to provide a fun and balanced programme.

Programme Zones split the whole programme into manageable areas. Each Zone represents a different development area in a young person's life. There are five Programme Zones in Beaver Scouting. They are:

•    Getting to Know Other People – by understanding different people and cultures, discovering the Scouting Family and understanding themselves.

•    Learning About Yourself – helping to prompt a Beaver Scout’s development through areas including, health, cleanliness, getting on with people, being part of a team, making new friendships.

•    Exploring the World Around Us – by helping Beaver Scouts develop their natural curiosity by finding out about science and technology, developing their awareness of the world and getting involved in their local community.

•    Discovering Creativity and Practical Skills -  They will develop their communication through performance activities, physical co-ordination through cutting and sticking, feelings when expressing themselves using drawing pictures or puppets and co-operation with others by sharing materials.

•    Discovering Beliefs and Attitudes -  They will examine the similarities and difference between people and cultures, begin to find their own place in the world, have the opportunity to response to the needs of others, develop a sense of right and wrong and have a chance to discuss their beliefs in a secure environment.
